As redeemed followers of Jesus Christ the members of Calvary Chapel La Pine regularly gather under the authority of the Christ-centered Word and in the power of the Holy Spirit in order to purposefully love God and each other while boldly evangelizing the world, as the truth of the Gospel defines who we are and how we live.
As redeemed followers of Jesus Christ members of Calvary Chapel La Pine:
Membership into the body of Christ is not brought about by any labor of the flesh, but through internal transformation of the Holy Spirit through faith in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross. One must be born again to be a member of the church, and once redeemed, will have a desire by the Spirit of God to passionately participate in the Biblical principles by which we carry out the vision of God.
Romans 3:21-28; Romans 8:3; Ephesians 2:8-10
Members of this local Body of Christ understand that by active participation in the regular gatherings of the church they are rooted and built up in sound doctrine, equipped for the work of the ministry, edified through encouragement and exhortation, poured out through giving, service and mutual consideration of fellow believers.
Acts 2:42-47; 1 Corinthians 16:2; Hebrews 3:13, 10:24-26; Ephesians 4:11-16
Authority of the Christ-centered Word:
Members of this local body understand that the Scriptures are inspired by the Holy Spirit and are without error in their original form. They are the final authority for all things concerning life and godliness; therefore we submit our doctrine, lives, methods, thoughts and emotions to what it declares. We believe the whole of Scripture points to Jesus as the perfect, righteous, victorious One who has redeemed the world from its fallen condition, therefore our preaching, teaching and application of these attributes in the Word will not be man-centered, but upon the fulfillment in Jesus Christ who motivates and empowers by the Spirit to live as He has lived.
Luke 24:27, 44-45; 2 Timothy 3:14-4:4; 1 Peter 1.21
In the power of the Holy Spirit:
The realization of His vision for the church cannot be accomplished through the strength of our flesh. The promise of the Father is that believers in Christ will be led and empowered by the Spirit of God for holy living, works of ministry, use of spiritual gifts, fervent prayer, and bold evangelism of the world.
John 7:37-39, 14:26, 20:22; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:13-24
Purposefully love God and each other:
Members resolve to intentionally pursue a deep love-relationship with God through obedience to Him and regular times in His presence through the Word, prayer, fasting, fellowship and communion. We understand that we must be purposeful in our consideration of one another’s needs, circumstances, joys and sorrows so that we may encourage, exhort and stir one another up towards love and good works.
Acts 4:39; Ephesians 5:18-21; Colossians 3; Hebrews 10:24; 1 John 1-5
Boldly evangelizing the world:
Members of this local church realize their commission, given by Jesus Christ, to go out in the power of the Spirit to their city, region and world to make known the good news of God’s saving grace.
Matthew 28:29; Mark 15:15-18; Acts 1:8; 1 Peter 2:9
Truth of the Gospel defines who we are and how we live:
This vision will be accomplished as Members of this local church apply the gospel to their lives not only for their salvation but for their continuance in the grace of God. We have both started and will finish this race by faith in the redemptive, sanctifying message of the gospel.
(Romans 1:17, 8:3-5; Galatians 3:3; Ephesians 5:18-21)
